The importance of being an ally

We feel a need to make a statement regarding our recent hate and fake reviews driven by those who would like to empower racism and divisiveness in our community and our country.

Speaking up against the hate is so very important and will ultimately help make the needed changes to create an inclusive community where resources and respect belong to all and not just the elite or the fortunate.

The amount of hate and the relentless fake reviews from those with alternative agendas have been disheartening and at times scary but we will continue to use our platform and our freedom of speech to make any difference we can.

A business should proudly speak up against violent extremist groups and hateful community members regardless of their standing in the community or their relentless time and resources used to slander and defame.

We stand for responsible policing with accountablity and transparency. One that impartially and non politically serves all the members of its community. We have never advocated to disband police or to defund our local police. These lies are passed on by those that want to create distractions and want to create chaos and disagreements.

The hope has been to destroy Betty’s and rid the community of this support system. Betty’s has always offered a discount for police, fire and military. We have hosted numerous functions for local police and fire members including holiday parties and retirement celebrations.

The slander and lies are just not true.

We are working towards a better Gresham where the old slogan “hate is not a Gresham value” might actually ring true.
